Drying Time -For Window Tinting
It will take about 3 to 5 days for your new window film to fully dry. During the summer the tint can dry in a few hours, but in the colder winter months, the film could take up to a few weeks to fully dry. It is important to remember that during this time the window will appear hazy or lumpy. Some customers also notice water bubbles, these are nothing to worry about, there is just excess water between the glass and the film forming a kind of 'blister' that will disappear once all the water has evaporated.

Do not roll your tinted windows down until dry! If you do, the film won't properly cure to the window and will peel.

Cleaning - After Window Tinting
Window film may be cleaned with a soft clean cloth and alcohol based cleaner or plain water. Ammonia products such as windex should not be used, these products react to the chemicals used in the film and cause blotchiness. Stick to soap and water! You can also try a spray foam glass cleaner, we recommend "Bon-ami" to our customers, available at Canadian Tire and leading grocery or department stores.

Dot Matrix
Most cars have a black ceramic "frit" edge on the rear window. Sometimes this ceramic edge is straight and flat, sometimes it will have a dotted edge. These black ceramic dots are quite thick on most cars and prevent the film from sticking to the area between the dots. This results in a whitish looking strip trimming the glass. Typically this isn't very noticeable, however some cars have a much wider band of dots trimming the top of the rear window. This area is so wide that the whitish looking area created is more pronounced. Unfortunately, the effect is unavoidable. We try our best to diminish the appearance of the white strip and in extreme cases, a black vinyl strip can be applied to the area. Tint Wizard normally charges an extra $15 on cars requiring the vinyl strip.

Seat Belt Chips
Caution should be used when releasing seat belts. Small chips can be made in the window film due to the seat belt hitting the glass as it is released. This is not covered by warranty.

Imperfections in Window Tinting
Though we strive for perfection in each of our installations, due to the nature of the product, some degree of dust contamination and or minor imperfections are present in every window film application. Also pre-existing flaws or scratches and metal deposits on the glass are often much more noticeable after the windows are tinted.
